Admin Clerk, Winnemucca Convention Center Mrs. Noble is a native of Mt. Vernon, Washington. She graduated from Washington State University before moving to Winnemucca in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Her husband’s job brought the family back to Winnemucca in 2001. Over the year, Mrs. Noble has been active in school PTOs and local youth athletic organizations. She wished to become a trustee because she feels that the school district plays a vital role in our community and she wanted to be more involved in the decisions that affect local youth. “I enjoy working with the other trustees and the HCSD staff who care for this community as much as I do,” she said. “Our collaboration isn’t always an easy process, but I do believe that we all genuinely want to do what’s best for the children of Humboldt County.” |

Owner, Betteridge Janitorial and Chem-Dray of Northern Nevada in Winnemucca area and another franchise in Reno, Sparks and Carson City. Mr. Betteridge graduated from Lowry High School in 1976. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints for two years and attended Brigham Young University for two years before transferring to the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institution. He worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope System program. He later worked on YAG (Yittrium Aluminum Garnet) Diode Pumped lasers before deciding to move to Winnemucca to begin his own business. Mr. Betteridge has two sons who have graduated from Lowry High School and a daughter who is currently attending. “Because of my background, my education path has been different, and I believe other students may feel the same way.” He continued, “I believe the goals that we have as a board are good and need constant work to make sure we are putting our kids first.” Mr. Betteridge’s goals during his tenure as a school district trustee are to help launch a comprehensive Career Technical Education (CTE) program for those students who will seek a technical rather than academic post-high school education. He also would like to see every student graduate in Humboldt County graduate from high school. He wishes to ensure a safe school environment for students, as well as give students the chance to participate in sports, music and extra-curricular activities. “I appreciate all the employees of the Humboldt County school system; they are all working hard and try to do the best they can under difficult circumstances.” |
